Support Raising
There's no doubt about it, the thought of
raising support puts many people off volunteering for mission service. But it shouldn't!
If you haven't raised support before then you can only imagine what it's like and that thought might be too daunting. Support raising is
a skill that needs to be learned and to learn a new skill there's study to be done and then the application.
To use a sporting analogy: If you are unfit you know there are steps that need to be taken to get fit. If you only make a half-hearted attempt, or never leave the couch at all you'll never experience the benefits and enjoyment of being fit. Raising team support is a bit like that, it takes some knowledge and then consistent application to really
enjoy the results.
Today there are some
terrific resources to help you as you raise support. If you are interested in cross-cultural mission service then you might like to read some of these to help give you a better idea of what is really involved.
