About Interserve

Encountering Purpose and Mission

Making an impact

Interserve Partners are engaged in wholistic ministry.  That means we get to impact lives at multiple levels.  Our skills are applied in communities through assignments where we can make a real difference to the lives of people in need.  The sacrificial quality of our service also gives us the proximity, credibility and opportunity to demonstrate and articulate the gospel of Christ as we build relationships and serve the local church.

Can I really make a difference?

That great poet of our age, Homer Simpson once said, “Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.”  Helen Keller had a different take on how lives and communities are changed through simple, faithful service:  “I long to accomplish great and noble tasks, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble. The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker.”

You can make a difference.

I don’t have the skills

Australians are amongst the best educated in the world. We have a huge amount to offer people in the countries in which we serve. Plus there are many opportunities to increase skills and to engage in cross-cultural studies along with studies that deepen our faith and prepare us for challenges to it. There are opportunities to be equipped for a lifetime of service to the communities we find ourselves in.
